We hit the T-junction and swung left into the alley. As my teammate was priming a flashbang, we got the shock of our lives—an enemy swung out from the corner and caught him completely by surprise. Poor guy was taken out instantly. The flashbang detonated. Both the enemy and I were blinded by the whiteout. I fired a few wild shots and scrambled against the wall for cover. As the blinding effect faded, I thought, "In for a penny, in for a pound," and with a mix of panic and hope, I chucked a frag in his direction. But the enemy had guts—even wounded, he started spraying and charging right at me. I settled my aim on his head... one tap. That was all it took.
